Job description Responsibilities for Gluer Operator roles include but are not limited to: • Locate and load proper stock in preparation for operation Prepare make-ready, feeder, prefold, glue system, final fold, delivery, stacker and pack station • Set up and operate folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures. • Feed machine with raw materials • Ensure maximum efficiency and total quality of the job while in operation and in accordance with customer specifications • Once production begins, operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, operator is to be able to detect cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible. • Ensure on-time product delivery • Controls line integrity (line clearance) in order to prevent product mix potential. • Controls non-conforming product and overage as per procedure. • Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed and time spent for make ready and production. • Transfer materials and products to and from machinery and equipment, using industrial trucks or hand trucks. Maintain the machine and area for cleanliness and organization • Add chemicals, solutions, or ingredients to machines or equipment as required by the manufacturing process. • Perform troubleshooting and regular maintenance, as required • Oversee the crew working on the machine. • Train co-workers to set up, operate and use equipment as directed. • Act as a technical resource to assist in new product development using the in-depth knowledge and expertise of machine capabilities • Follow all standard operating procedures relevant to the job, position and department. Follow established policies, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines. • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: • Experience operating folder/gluers (Bobst or Brausse) or willingness to learn • Good math skills and time management • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions • Able to work independently or with others in a production environment • Willingness to help others as necessary • Punctual, Reliable and Dedicated • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form • Mechanically inclined • Must own Safety Shoes Physical Demands: • Regularly lift up to 20 lbs. and periodically be able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Bending, squatting, walking, and standing all day. 20-20 vision with or without prescription glasses, with good attention to details • Good hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills performing repetitive motions
