Job Description

    • We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Supply Chain Manager to oversee end-to-end supply chain functions, including sourcing, supplier management, inventory planning, import logistics, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will gain deep knowledge of Pantry Shelf (PS) products and production processes, enabling them to ensure supplier compliance, accuracy of product specifications, and consistency across operations.
    • This is a hands-on role that requires leadership, coordination with cross-functional teams, and a strategic understanding of global supply chain dynamics in the food sector.
    • Key Responsibilities Sourcing and Supplier Management
      • Gain comprehensive knowledge of products and production processes to properly instruct suppliers for consistent product delivery.
      • Proactively identify and evaluate new suppliers for core commodities, ensuring they meet timing, regulatory, and quality standards.
      • Stay informed on global agricultural and seafood trends to anticipate market disruptions or leverage cost advantages.
      • Ensure all new and existing suppliers meet both PS and CFIA/SFCR compliance standards.
      • Define and implement third-party testing protocols per SKU and factory, in accordance with SFCR requirements.
      • Oversee supplier communications and maintain strong, professional relationships in coordination with management.
      • Travel to international food shows (e.g., ANUGA) and supplier factories as needed.
    • Product & Label Management
      • Ensure all SFCR documentation including product specifications and certifications is complete and up to date across all SKUs and suppliers.
      • Develop standardized PS-format specification templates and lead the creation of PS specifications for all products.
      • Lead the redesign of labels for all house brands, focusing on brand consistency and consumer appeal.
      • Validate label content for compliance and accuracy, including for private-label customer brands.
    • Inventory Planning & Import Management
      • Define and lead the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process to ensure PS is always “in stock and on price.”
      • Oversee the design and improvement of the supply chain database, working closely with IT/IS to implement phased upgrades, including supplier self-input capability.
      • Conduct initial costings and supplier comparisons; include end-user pricing analysis where relevant.
      • Maintain accurate cost history records for all products and suppliers.
      • Manage inbound product order planning, shipping, and logistics coordination with suppliers and management.
      • Ensure timely CFIA and customs clearance by proactively managing documentation and working closely with suppliers.
      • Negotiate and manage freight rates with logistics partners.
      • Issue final product costings and receiving vouchers.
      • Maintain foreign currency tracking files in collaboration with Finance and support improved FX forecasting.
      • Coordinate with Finance to track payments and handle damage claims.
      • Place orders for domestically sourced products and manage logistics to warehouses.
      • Ensure all necessary import licenses are active and up to date.
    • 3PL & Local Freight Oversight
      • Review and verify charges for local trucking and freight.
      • Collaborate with international teams (including the PS India Team) to track and report all distribution-related costs, including warehousing and delivery.
      • Allocate and reconcile CHEP and PECO pallet programs accurately.
    • Support & Administrative Duties
      • Provide backup for colleagues during staff vacations or absences as needed.
      • Answer incoming calls and assist with general office duties on a daily basis.
    • Software & Technical Skills
      • Advanced Excel proficiency is required.
      • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and standard office software.
      • Experience with ERP or supply chain database systems is an asse.
    • Qualifications
      • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics (food industry preferred).
      • Strong understanding of CFIA, SFCR, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
      • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and international logistics.
      • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and written/verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
