We are looking for a seasoned Manual Machinist with a strong background in repairing rollers and journals. This role involves precise machining operations on manual lathes and milling machines, as well as welding worn shafts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently, and require minimal to no training.
Responsibilities:
Perform precision repairs on rollers and journals using manual lathes.
Fabricate new rollers as required.
Operate a manual lathe to:
Cut threads for tab or lock nuts.
Finish bearing surfaces to tight tolerances.
Cut retainer ring grooves.
Utilize a manual milling machine to cut keyways.
Weld worn shafts using a MIG welder.
Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet precise specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work collaboratively with a team of four other machinists.
Adhere to all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Manual Machinist.
Expertise in operating manual lathes and milling machines.
Strong ability to cut threads, finish bearing surfaces, and cut retainer ring grooves on a manual lathe.
Proficiency in cutting keyways on a manual milling machine.
Experience in MIG welding worn shafts.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Self-starter with the ability to work independently (no training provided).
