Job Description

  • We are currently looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic Solar Installer/Tech to work with our team of professionals. The successful candidate will be working with our installation and engineering teams to install and maintain solar panels, inverters, optimizers, and other equipment in residential and commercial settings. Our Solar Installer/Tech plays a critical role in ensuring that the solar power systems are installed and maintained efficiently and timely while adhering to safety procedures and standards.

    As a team member, you will work as a team to coordinate and install renewable energy and other projects at our customers’ facilities across Ontario.     Responsibilities and Duties

    • Participate in the preparation of work, worksite, and material
    • Ensure all necessary materials and tools are ready for the job
    • Install Racking system, solar panels, other components, and cabling
    • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
    • Respect customers, their properties, and Interact courteously
    • Delivering, picking up materials and equipment
    • Troubleshoot and fix problems in coordination with the team
    • Complete site checks, clean up, and report the progress at the end of each day work
    • Participate in regular team meetings and technical training
    • Perform additional duties as needed

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and sketches
    • Ability to work at heights comfortably
    • Experience / comfortable standing and working on pitched rooftops
    • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Mechanically inclined / experience in working with your hands, hand tools, and power tools
    • Ability to work in harsh outside weather conditions
    • Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
    • The ability to work well independently and with other personnel to achieve the goals
    • Ability to take direction and follow instructions
    • Not afraid to ask questions when unsure and research information as necessary
    • Previous experience and knowledge of solar PV considered assets but for willing candidates without previous experience training will be provided.

    Following certifications are mandatory for our work:

    * WHMIS (current within a year)

    * Working at Heights (valid)

    * Worker Awareness in 4 Steps or Supervisor Awareness in 5 Steps

    * Elevated Work Platform Training

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week

    Work Location: In person
