    We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Industrial Millwright Mechanic with 5-7 years of experience to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and reliability of our production machinery and systems. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, food quality standards, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment, including conveyors, processing equipment, packaging lines, pumps, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, specifically within a food production setting.
    • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and minor electrical issues using various testing equipment and technical drawings.
    • Execute equipment installations, alignments, overhauls, and rebuilds to ensure precise and efficient operation.
    • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and food safety/hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
    • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions to prevent downtime.
    • Fabricate, weld, and machine parts as needed for repairs or modifications, utilizing various tools and techniques.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, document repairs, and manage spare parts inventory.
    • Collaborate effectively with production, sanitation, and other maintenance team members to minimize operational disruptions.
    • Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures and contribute to developing solutions for long-term reliability.
    • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior mechanics and apprentices.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • 5-7 years of progressive experience as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated experience working specifically within the food processing or food manufacturing industry is essential.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and precision alignment.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Proficiency in welding (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and machining.
    • Solid understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance in a food production setting.
    • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Valid Industrial Millwright Mechanic license (433A ) or equivalent interprovincial/journeyperson certification is a strong asset.
    • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic electrical repairs.
    • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift
    • Day shift
    • Monday to Friday
    • Weekends as needed

    Work Location: In person
